Dr. Melkamu Tafesse is Assistant Professor of Orthopedic surgery at Hawassa University comprehensive specialized Hospital serving since 2022. His clinical expertise focuses mainly complex orthopedic trauma care and has rigorous passion to excel trauma care low-income countries; to materialize his dream has been inquiring fellowship in Trauma and Arthroplasty for 2026.
Dr Melkamu has been actively involved in academic teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and in mentoring postgraduate research students. He is active member of AO Trauma, Ethiopian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (ESOT), Ethiopian Medical Association (EMA) and COSECSA.
