Since 2015, when ADFA began its work in Ethiopia, the organization has made remarkable contributions across multiple institutions, including Hawassa University. ADFA has played a key role in strengthening local capacity through various training programs, professional development initiatives and infrastructure support.

AO Alliance (AOA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving fracture care and reducing injury-related disability and mortality in over 30 low- and middle-income countries across Africa and Asia, including Ethiopia.

Restoring Limbs and Livelihoods
SIGN Fracture Care International has played a vital role in the establishment and expansion of orthopedic services at Hawassa University. Through its partnership and continuous support, SIGN has provided essential surgical implants, training and mentorship that have greatly improved trauma care delivery in the region. Their contributions have enabled Hawassa University to offer quality fracture management even in resource-limited settings, helping thousands of patients regain normal function.

The Northwest Orthopaedic Trauma Alliance for Africa (NOTAA) has made a significant contribution to the development and expansion of orthopedic services at Hawassa University since its establishment in collaboration with the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology. Since hosting the first Ethiopian Residents Day in 2017 at Hawassa University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital, NOTAA has remained an active partner in advancing orthopedic education and patient care
